Alexandra Baig, MBA, CFP®

Alexandra Baig, CFP® is a Benefits Specialist with Clancy & Associates, Ltd.  Alexandra brings extensive experience interacting with the Social Security Administration, advising clients on SSI, SSDI, Ticket to Work, Medicaid, Medicare and other related programs and benefits.  She helps provide education and advice for our clients, whether they are beginning their special needs planning or encounter a life event that disrupts their receipt of government benefits.  This advanced planning and education helps parents understand how to best position their child to receive benefits upon reaching age 18.  Alexandra networks with developmental, behavioral and mental health programs and vocational programs to guide clients through the many decisions they face.

Experience
Alexandra’s first career was as a stock market analyst in Hong Kong and China.  A search for a more meaningful life’s work took her to L’Arche, an international, interfaith network of communities where people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities share life. She served as the Executive Director of L'Arche's Chicago chapter for 7 years, after working as a personal support worker for one year, and a board member for two years.  Her work quickly introduced her to the financial planning challenges of people with physical, intellectual, developmental and behavioral disabilities and their families.  In particular, she is well-versed in the government benefits available to people with special needs and the rules governing them.  Her goal is to help people with disabilities and their families make the most of public and private money to live the life they chose.

Education
Alexandra has a BA from the University of Chicago and an MBA and an MA in Asian studies from the University of Michigan.  She has a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and is a member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners.

Interests
Alexandra and her husband Adam have two children and reside in Brookfield.  She and her family enjoy museums, outdoor activities and raising chickens, green cheek conures, and guinea pigs.  She speaks Mandarin Chinese, “taxi” Cantonese and basic Indonesian.
